Delete your Spirit Battery account

You can delete your account and every prayer you have recorded. This page explains how, and exactly what happens.

If you still have the app

This is the quickest way, and you can change your mind afterwards.

Open Spirit Battery, go to Profile, and look for Taking a break? You will find two choices there:

Pause my account Reminders stop. Nothing is deleted. Sign in whenever you want and everything is still there.
Delete my account Starts a 30-day countdown. Sign in before it ends and nothing is lost. After that it is permanent.

Most people who think about deleting simply want to stop for a while. Pause is there for that, and it costs you nothing.

If you have already uninstalled the app

Email spiritbattery.app@gmail.com with the subject Delete my account.

Send it from the email address you signed in with. That is how we know the request is really yours — we will not delete an account on the word of someone who cannot prove it is theirs.

Your account is deleted within 30 days, and you will get a reply confirming it is done.

What is deleted

Your accountRemoved entirely
Every prayer you recordedPermanently erased — times, dates, categories, all of it
Your goal and settingsErased
Your streak and historyErased

This cannot be undone, and we cannot bring it back for you afterwards. If you want to keep your record, pause instead.

What is kept, and why

A deletion record The internal identifier of the deleted account and the date. No name, no email, no prayers. It exists so that restoring a backup can never bring a deleted account back, and so we can show the request was honoured.
Encrypted backups, for up to 30 days The database is copied nightly in case of failure. Older copies delete themselves, so your data is gone from every copy within 30 days of deletion.

If you never signed in

Spirit Battery lets you pray without an account, and those prayers live on your phone. Uninstalling the app deletes them. There is nothing for us to remove and no way for us to identify you, because we never knew who you were.
